We explain the benefits of shopping with Mastercard credit cards

The Mastercard symbol which appears on many credit cards does not signify a credit card provider but a payment system which makes sure that credit and debit card transactions are completed and registered in the appropriate accounts whenever and wherever in the world they take place.

Mastercard rely on banks to issue their customers with credit cards that use their payment methods and it is these financial institutions and not Mastercard that set the features and interest rates associated with each card.

Mastercard cards are accepted in shops, hotels, restaurants and other retail establishments the world over and so provide a viable alternative to carrying large amounts of cash when you travel.

Mastercard's continuing aim is to increase the speed of credit and debit card transactions, improve credit card security and reduce credit card fraud worldwide, this can be demonstrated by the recent introduction of chip and pin technology.
