Shopping with Gold & Platinum Credit Cards

If you like to flash your cash we explain why you should be carrying a gold or platinum credit card in your wallet.

Some people feel that carrying a gold or platinum credit card bestows a certain prestige and for many they represent a status symbol. In reality however, their rates do not generally differ from those offered by standard cards and although a higher level of income is usually required, they are available to most people with a good credit score.

Gold or platinum credit cards commonly offer more generous cash withdrawal limits and higher credit limits than their standard counterparts. They also frequently offer additional benefits to their card holders, such as travel insurance, purchase protection, extended warranties for household appliances and special deals on certain products. Some also offer loyalty schemes where cashback or reward points are accumulated each time you use your card.
